Key Account Manager

your challenge

  • Identify, establish and maintain working relationships with key personnel in the specified group of customers and where appropriate involve the sales team
  • Develop a total account management principal with all allocated group accounts working alongside the sales team
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s products, their features, benefits and applications
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the organisation’s operating environment, regulatory climate and other external challenges
  • Work autonomously on a day-to-day basis, recognising where it is appropriate to involve others
  • Maximising sales through the allocated accounts for the company product and service portfolio
  • Managing the key project database through the company CRM – MS Dynamics
  • Coordinating sales and project tracking activities and follow up with area sales managers
  • Build and maximise professional relationships
  • Work with the sales team to put in place clear business plans for key account development within a designated area, to be reviewed on a structured ongoing basis
  • Effectively use company systems and IT packages to carry out the role to a high standard
  • Take ownership of any issues with employees, customers, products, deliveries and deal with this efficiently and effectively
  • Demonstrate a “can do” attitude and achieves targets and deadlines

requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of working in a relevant industry would be advantageous (but not essential)
  • Proven background in selling
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to work towards and fulfill agreed targets and objectives
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • A clear desire to succeed personally and on behalf of the Company
  • Must have a full clean driving license
  • Able to travel within the UK and, occasionally Europe as and when required to visit customers
