I started my career at Aalberts IPS in the Warehouse packing department before progressing to the role of team leader. Whilst in this role I received support & training from multiple departments within the business that enabled me to understand the core values of the company and move into my current role as Operations Manager at the Distribution Centre. The distribution centre is the link to the sales team to ensure all customer orders are delivered on time and in full across the world. I am proud of the Health & Safety record within the business and take ownership of the site to drive the zero-harm ethos. There are many challenges that need to be overcome every day, but I make sure that we work together to ensure that we overcome them and meet our business targets. As I continue to grow within Aalberts I have been selected for the Fit programme, which focuses on developing my leadership qualities, this will take place in the company Headquarters in the Netherlands.

I started work in 2005 at Aalberts initially as a graduate design engineer before progressing on to the full design engineer role after gaining some experience and training. 10 years ago, I was offered the chance to become a Development Manager leading a team of multi skilled engineers responsible for designing new products and maintaining/improving existing products. My role in the team is to provide steering, prioritisation, engineering advice and decisions while ensuring any roadblocks are quickly bypassed to ensure project progress. I find my role varied and enjoyable, the sheer variety of products produced by Aalberts IPS ensure that we are regularly challenged with learning new techniques, and technologies. We are regularly offered opportunities to work with and champion new technologies, promoting their adoption in the wider company, a recent example of this is the adoption of rapid manufactured holding jigs in assembly cells.
