Roy Edmondson - Operator, Tectite Machining

I moved from our Leeds site in 2015 to establish the new machining area of our Tectite product. This involved training of multiple operators and over time the introduction of new assembly machines. New product introduction has meant even further training for myself with I can then pass this on to new operators and apprentices. This keeps my days interesting and varied. Even after 35 years there is always new ways of working on new machines.

Through training I feel capable to have automony of my work area, I have great realtionships with my colleagues and manager. When I started I was made to feel welcome and supported. I really enjoy my role!

Having joined during a lockdown my training was done primarily on teams which was a new experience and not without it's challenges! However with the support of my manager and the customer service colleagues we made this work successfully.
