Business Development Manager - Domestic

We are looking for a driven and commercially focused professional to join Aalberts IPS, responsible for developing and growing our specification business across key market sectors.

You will play a pivotal role in building and strengthening relationships with developers, local authorities, housing associations, subcontractors, and distribution partners, driving a proactive, account-led approach to business growth.

your challenge

  • Identify, establish and maintain working relationships with key personnel in the specified group of customers and where appropriate involve the sales team
  • Develop a total account management principal with all allocated group accounts.  Work alongside the sales team
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s products, the features, benefits and applications
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the organisation’s operating environment, regulatory climate and other external challenges
  • Work autonomously on a day-to-day basis, recognising where it is appropriate to involve others
  • Maximising Sales through the allocated and prospect accounts for the company product and service portfolio
  • Managing the key project database
  • Coordinating Sales and project tracking activities and follow up of area sales managers
  • Build and maximise professional relationships
  • Work with the sales team to put in place clear business plans for the development of LA/HA, developers and sub-contractors within your designated a region.
  • Effectively use company systems and IT packages to carry out the role to a high standard e.g. CRM and Outlook
  • Take ownership of any issues with, customers, products, deliveries and deal with this efficiently and effectively

requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of working in a relevant industry would be advantageous (but not essential)
  • Communication – should have the ability to communicate freely and concisely to all areas of the business in a professional manner
  • Planning – should have the ability to identify what needs are required to achieve the KPI’s
  • Personal effectiveness – a successful candidate should be able to demonstrates personnel commitment and problem-solving skills to deliver the required results.
  • Change Management – should have the ability to manage change in the working environment
  • Commercial Awareness – should have the ability understand the financial support structure and apply a considered approach taking full opportunity of the large portfolio of products and services available
  • Proven background in selling
  • Able to work towards and fulfill agreed targets and objectives
